Day 1: Fez – Ifrane – Cedar Forest – Merzouga Desert (7 H Drive)
The 3 days tour from Fes to Merzouga desert starts with an early morning pick-up from either the airport or your accommodation in Fez. Then we go south via Imouzzer, heading towards Ifrane, known for its chilly climate, snowy landscapes, and Alpine-style architecture, earning it the nickname ‘Moroccan Switzerland’. Then to the cedar forest, home of the Berber macaques. Feel free to interact and feed them as you walk through the forest. After this, we will head to Midelt for a lunch break. followed by a journey through the Tizi-n-Tilghmt pass and along the Ziz River, towards the Sahara desert.
Upon reaching the Sahara near Merzouga in the afternoon, you will take the camels and cross the sandy desert. making stops to enjoy the magical sunset on a top high dune. Then head to the luxurious desert camp where you can enjoy Berber music and dance around a campfire under the vast starry sky. Dinner and overnight accommodation are at the campsite.

Day 2: Explore Merzouga Region – Nomads – Khamlia (4 H Drive)
The second day is dedicated to exploring the diverse Merzouga region. An early start is recommended to catch the stunning sunrise. After returning to Merzouga and meeting our driver, we dig into the area’s attractions, which include sand dunes, a wild lake, mines, and fossil-laden oases – perfect for various outdoor activities.
Our excursion includes a visit to an old eyeliner mine. Then we visit the nomads in their hand-woven tents to learn about their lifestyle. Our next destination is Khamlia village to enjoy Gnaoua music. The inhabitants of Khamlia originate from Sub-Saharan countries such as Mali, Niger and Sudan. Lunch will be enjoyed at a local restaurant. Then a visit to a palm grove and the Merzouga Lake, also known as Flamingo Lake. The day concludes with dinner and an overnight stay at a hotel.

Day 3: Merzouga Desert – Ziz Valley – Fes (9 H Drive)
Wake up early in the morning to admire the beautiful sun in the middle of the desert. Free time for breakfast. Then we leave the desert for Rissani, the historical capital of Tafilalet. Rissani remains an important shopping centre in the region, with a large and lively souk on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. After a walk in the souk of Rissani, our journey takes us to Erfoud to visit one of the workshops of fossilized marble.
Continuing along the Ziz River, we will stop for a panoramic view of the Ziz Valley. The journey then leads us through the cedar forest and Ifrane, finally arriving in Fez, where we finish the 3 days tour with a drop-off at either the airport or your accommodation.
