Fes To Marrakech Desert Tour 2 Days

Day 1: Fes – Ifrane – Merzouga Desert (8 H Drive)

The 2 days desert tour from Fes to Marrakech begins with an early pickup from the airport or your hotel in Fes. Then we drive south via Imouzzer to visit Ifrane, famous for its low temperatures, snow and alpine style houses – no wonder it’s called Switzerland in Morocco. Then continue to the cedar forest where the Barbary apes live, feel free to feed them as you walk through the forest. Then we continue to Midelt where lunch will be served. Then we drive into the Sahara desert and drive over the Tizi-n-Tilghmt pass and the river Ziz.

In the afternoon we reach the Sahara desrt in Merzouga, where we go to the camels and cross the sand desert. You will do stops to enjoy the magical sunset on top of a high dune, then you go to the desert camp. Where you will enjoy the Berber drum music while dancing by the fire, under a huge open starry sky. Dinner and overnight in the Desert Camp.

Day 2: Merzouga Desert – Ait Benhaddou – Marrakech (9 H Drive)

Getting up early is a must to consider the beautiful sunrise in the middle of the desert. Free time for breakfast before returning to Merzouga on camel or 4×4 where the driver is waiting for you. Then we leave the desert and head west through the palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad to reach the Todra Gorge. The course of the river Todra has a large canyon cut through the mountains – a high canyon of red rock. Then we pass along several kasbahs and palm groves in Ouarzazate, leisure for lunch.

Then we continue to Marrakech, passing by the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a fortified village classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In addition, the Kasbah has appeared in numerous films, including Gladiator, Alexander, The Mummy … and television series such as Game of Thrones. Finally, we will cross the Tizi N Tichka Pass and the High Atlas to Marrakech, then we will take you to the airport or your riad. End of the trip.
